Water: Is the Glass Half-Full or Half-Empty?


Juliet McKenna is a hydrogeologist with Montgomery & Associates, which is an international water resources consulting firm headquartered in Tucson.  A founding member of the company’s water resources planning group, her work focuses on groundwater management and water policy for public agencies, private and municipal water providers, tribal nations, and non-governmental organizations. She is a registered professional geologist, and prior to moving to Arizona in 2007 she worked in California, New England, and the Pacific Northwest.

Marie Pearthree has 40 years of experience in the water industry, all of it in Arizona. A registered Professional Engineer (Civil) in Arizona since 1990, Ms. Pearthree has held a wide variety of positions in consulting engineering, hydrology and water utility management, including Deputy Director at the City of Tucson Water Department; Senior Management Consultant/Principal Project Manager with CH2M Hill; and Assistant/Deputy General Manager at the Central Arizona Project. She has served on the Board of Directors of the AZ Water Association, and on the Water Utility Council and Board of Directors of the American Water Works Association (AWWA). Ms. Pearthree is currently a member of the University of Arizona’s Geosciences Advisory Board. Ms. Pearthree received a Bachelor of Arts in Geology from Oberlin College and a Master’s of Science degree in Geosciences from the University of Arizona.

James MacAdam serves as the senior communications official for Tucson Water, Arizona’s second largest water utility serving more than 750,000 customers. He manages a team responsible for Tucson Water’s public communications, conservation programming, and development of the City’s new Green Stormwater Infrastructure Program. A native of Maine, James has lived in Tucson for 20 years and is raising two young boys near downtown.
